How counselling at innerShe worksIf initially the idea of going to counselling has seemed daunting, then don't worry.
Counselling is your time to be deeply listened to and heard. It is your time to
talk with someone who wants to listen and has the skills to help you
where you are needing and wanting help.
You may only need one appointment. For it is possible to experience
dramatic transformational shifts and relief in only one session.
However, if the trauma is old (with other hurts layered upon it),
then you may need a more detailed exploration.
Ongoing support is a brilliant way to powerfully change your habitual
behaviours and break down the belief that you have to do it all on
your own. Then you can shift from not just dealing with the crises in
your life, to actually starting to fly!
First SessionAt your first session you will be required to fill out an intake form
and read your legal rights and innerShe's Duty of Care.
Then for the next hour its really over to you.
You get to take me on the journeys that have brought you to this point in
your life, while I sit, listening deeply to all that is being said, and not said.
My job is to survey your emotional landscape. The final part of the session
involves us working together to acknowledge where you've been, where
you currently are and where you would prefer be.
Metaphorically, my job is initially to carry the backpack of skills and tools to help you
carry the map. Together we work to get you out of the hard places. Then I work to equip
you with the skills to help your inner resources and tools grow. So that you can deeply heal your
emotional wounds and live well as a whole and happy woman.
I give strategies, information, perspectives and tools. Not advice. Ultimately its my aim to make myself redundant and you the expert of your world.
